2021 Granite Ridge Pinotage

Two remarkable old vineyards were chosen for this fruity Pinotage. The first, planted in Northern Stellenbosch brings ripe, full and fleshy fruit notes. The second vineyard comes from the Voor Paardeberg, where the sandy, granite soils produce wine with lovely tension and superb texture. Granite Ridge utilized a unique fermentation process called “Full Berry Fermentation” in their crafting of this Pinotage - allowing them to display the wonderful depth expected of Pinotage without its notorious bitterness. Displaying hints of blackberries, plums, wild black fruits, and a wonderful, natural sucrosité, this Pinotage is juicy and refreshing. It has a lithe texture with integrated, supple tannins and some attractive spice on the finish. This Pinotage is well suited with more spice-oriented dishes such as tikka masala or roast pork shoulder.
