Balvenie 40 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Balvenie is the only distillery in Scotland that still grows its own barley, uses traditional floor maltings, and keeps a coppersmith and a cooperage on site. Their commitment to quality has been consistent since 1892, when William Grant built the distillery. The current Malt Master, David C. Stewart, began working at the distillery in 1962 at the age of 17. The casks for this bottling were put down under his supervision, and bottled under his supervision 40 years later. A careful blend of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks results in a rich, elegant and floral single malt that only great maturation can produce. You will find cinnamon and nutmeg on the palate and a sweet, warming finish of exceptional complexity.
