History
BOLS Peach Schnapps Liqueur was crafted by the Bols family who started the production of liqueurs in a small Amsterdam distillery called 't Lootsje. Lucas Bols, the grandson of the founder, was born in 1669. In 1700, he became a major shareholder in the Dutch East India trading company, gaining access to exotic herbs and spices that helped him create over 300 liqueur recipes. This innovative spirit led to the worldwide distribution of Bols liqueurs. Lucas Bols passed away in 1719, leaving a legacy of quality and innovation. The Bols family pioneered the distillation of Dutch genever and developed a revolutionary recipe that significantly influenced the cocktail scene, with over a quarter of cocktails in the 1862 recipe book by Jerry Thomas featuring genever. The legacy continued as Bols began maturing genevers in 1883, with aged recipes like the Bols Genever Barrel Aged being relaunched in 2010, showcasing the brand's commitment to quality and tradition.
