Chateau d'Arthus Bordeaux has long been a dependable choice for Tuesday night dinner or Saturday afternoon BBQ, and the new vintage we recently acquired is even better than the last.

This juicy, medium-bodied Merlot based blend is produced by the Janouiex family- vineyard managers across Bordeaux for over 100 years- and they use all that expertise to craft wines pleasing to the palate, AND the pocket!

When we received this most recent shipment I took one home for a test drink, and it did not disappoint. Flavors of cherry compote and black plum blend nicely with spice notes and a touch of oaky earth on the finish. I let the bottle breathe for about 30 minutes and the fruit became brighter, joined by aromas of fennel that I'd missed on the first taste. Mushroom and sausage pie from our friends at Prime Pizza paired splendidly, without being spendy!
