A range of Craigellachie single malts was released for the first time in 2014. The distillery is known for its meaty character, and the 13-year-old is sweet, spicy and slightly smoky.
Nose: Butterscotch and salted caramel, slightly meaty, burnt popcorn.
Palate: Big, full, and fairly complex. Oily malt arrives first, followed by pine nuts, chocolate covered coffee beans and hints of faded sherry oak.
Finish: Medium to long, with lingering sweetness - biscuits and apple notes.
