Doctor's Orders 2017 Barbera

Doctor’s Orders 2017 Barbera comes from a SIP Certified vineyard in the Paso Robles Highlands, where high elevations, hot days, and cool nights create the ideal conditions for balanced ripening. The grapes were hand-picked at high sugar levels while retaining bright acidity, ensuring a rich yet vibrant expression of the varietal. A meticulous winemaking process included 30% whole cluster and partially carbonic fermentation, enhancing depth and complexity.  

The wine offers lush red fruit flavors with bright cherry, raspberry, and a hint of spice, complemented by a silky texture. Co-fermented with 1% white wine must, it gains added smoothness and delicate aromatics. Gentle pressing and aging in neutral French oak for eight months without racking allow the wine to develop layers of flavor while preserving its fresh, fruit-driven character.  

Best enjoyed slightly chilled, this Barbera is versatile enough to pair with a variety of dishes or be savored on its own. Its natural acidity and supple tannins make it a lively, food-friendly choice, bringing out the best in rich pasta dishes, roasted meats, or aged cheeses.
