D’Ora · Orange Grüner Veltliner · Niederösterreich · Austria · 2024

Gerald Diem is a fifth-generation winemaker whose family has farmed the foot of the Manharts mountain since 1848. He and his wife took over the estate in 2000, converting their 25 hectares to certified organic viticulture — dry farmed, hand harvested, and rooted in sand and clay sediment soils that give D’Ora wines their distinctive texture and character. The Orange Grüner Veltliner is their most expressive bottling: a skin-contact white that is completely dry yet evokes the pleasure of an orange creamsicle, in the best possible way.

The 2024 pours a dusty tangerine with luminous clarity. The nose opens with yellow apple, vanilla wafers, and warm spice — inviting and aromatic. On the palate, layers of sweet apple, orange creamsicle, and gentle tannin from skin contact give way to a clean, refreshing finish. Certified organic, dry farmed, and bottled in a generous 1L format that makes it as practical as it is pleasurable.
