Taste
E.H. Taylor Straight Rye Bourbon is a remarkable expression crafted by E.H. Taylor and continues to be produced at the renowned Buffalo Trace Distillery. Utilizing Mash Bill #1, this bourbon shares its lineage with other iconic blends like Eagle Rare and George T. Stagg. It features a lower rye content compared to Mash Bill #2, resulting in a smooth and luxurious mouthfeel. On the palate, expect prominent notes of rye and malted barley, harmoniously mingling with bright hints of sweet dried fruit. The finish is robust and satisfying, offering bold flavors of black pepper, a hint of fresh dill, and subtle caramel overtones, culminating in an oaky and memorable experience.

History
E.H. Taylor Straight Rye Bourbon is crafted by a true innovator whose vision was ahead of his time. In 1869, E.H. Taylor acquired a small distillery located in Frankfurt, Kentucky, on the edge of the Kentucky River, originally named The Old Fire Copper Distillery. He began renovating the plant by purchasing copper fermentation tanks, new grain grinding equipment, and unique, columnar stills. Taylor implemented several innovative distilling techniques, including aging whiskey in climate-controlled Rick houses, setting a standard that distinguished his bourbon from others that relied on additives. His partnership with Treasury Secretary John G. Carlisle played a crucial role in the passage of the Bottled-In-Bond Act of 1897, ensuring the integrity of spirits produced in the U.S. Today, this fine bourbon is crafted from hand-selected barrels and bottled directly from the barrel at over 125 proof, representing the authentic way bourbon was produced before Prohibition, under the stewardship of Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr. at Buffalo Trace Distillery.
