El Tesoro Single Barrel Private Selection Reposado Tequila

When it comes to Tequila there are few names as associated with quality, additive-free Tequila  El Tesoro, a 100% Agave Tequila made in the Highlands of Jalisco. El Tesoro is distilled at the La Alteña Distillery in Arandas. The La Alteña distillery was founded by Don Felipe Camarena in 1937 as the area was mineral rich. Today, El Tesoro de Don Felipe is distilled by his grandson, Carlos Camarena.  

El Tesoro is known amongst Agave enthusiasts the world over as a brand that represents quality. There are no additives found in the Tequila and it is made in the traditional way using stone or brick ovens to roast the mature Agave before crushing them with a giant volcanic rock known as a Tahona.  

We here at Vintage Wine and Spirits as well as our partners at Love Scotch and Shop Bourbon are excited to make available to you our newest Singel Barrel selection, a Reposado Tequila from El Tesoro. Reposado Tequila carries a minimum age of 3 months, but we’re proud to boast that our barrel of El Tesoro is aged 9 months in ex-Bourbon to impart some rich barrel notes. 

Nose: Salted Agave nectar, earthy, peppery, slight notes of fresh lime juice 

Palate: This is a wonderfully balanced Reposado Tequila. Earthy, with slight notes of vanilla and caramel as well as a wonderful pepperiness. 

This is an amazing Reposado from El Tesoro and the fact that it’s just slightly above 40% clocking in at 40.6% just adds to the wonderful taste of this.
