Gicar 1/4" Flowmeter (Fixed Wire, FMRT-F-F)

This is the Gicar FMRT-F-F flowmeter, hardwired with a 1.5 mm orifice and G 1/4" female threads on both ports. It's the volumetric sensor that tells your machine's control board how much water has passed through the group, so it's central to shot-to-shot consistency on programmable machines.

INSTALLATION

Best left to a technician, it involves wiring the leads into the control board with correct polarity, though a confident DIYer comfortable with low-voltage wiring can manage it.

PRO TIPS

• Before condemning your control board over inconsistent dosing, test the flowmeter itself: a healthy unit reads roughly 2.2k ohms across its leads on a multimeter. An open or dead-short reading means the flowmeter is the culprit, not the board.
• Match the orifice size, not just the thread, Gicar sells several nearly identical-looking flowmeters at different orifice sizes calibrated for different flow rates; swapping in the wrong one will throw off your programmed shot volumes even though it screws right in.
