Lagavulin Offerman Edition is named for actor and brand pitchman, Nick Offerman who collaborated with Lagavulin distillery manager Colin Gordon to create this expression. Offerman himself describes this as "smokey giggle-juice" and also one of "life's simple pleasures".
The limited 4th edition was matured for 11 years in ex-fill bourbon casks before further aging for 8 months in ex-Caribbean rum casks. The result is a rare combination of classic Islay Single Malt and the exotic sweetness of Caribbean rum.
Producer's Tasting Notes
Nose: Smouldering embers, chili pepper, charred citrus peel, freshly baked crème brûlée, lemon cake, vibrant top notes, a distinct maritime and salty character, crusty burnt lemon meringue pie.
Palate: Bonfire smoke, black pepper, gentle lemon and lime notes, vanilla sweets, a contrasting sweet saltiness, brine.
Finish: A gentle chili spicy to finish.
