From the high-altitude La Suiza Vineyard in Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo, comes Lamadrid Cabernet Franc 2022, a vibrant and expressive red that channels the purity of Mendoza’s terroir. Grown at 3,215 feet above sea level in organically managed vineyards first planted in 1995, this 100% Cabernet Franc is hand-harvested from vines that yield just two plants per bottle. The soil composition of clay loam and sandy loam, paired with sustainable farming and native yeast fermentation in both concrete and stainless steel, brings depth and honesty to every drop.

The wine opens with lifted aromas of currants, violets, and wild herbs, followed by spicy notes of clove and earthy bark. Dark fruits like plum and blackberry give the palate richness, while a fine thread of granulated tannins provides structure. Aged for 12 months in second and third-use French oak barrels, it maintains freshness and elegance throughout, finishing long with bright acidity and a savory, juicy lift. Malolactic fermentation occurs in oak, rounding the texture while preserving natural character.

Lamadrid Cabernet Franc 2022 is bottled without clarification, stabilization, or filtration, preserving its raw authenticity. With an alcohol content of 13.9%, it’s best enjoyed slightly below room temperature and pairs beautifully with grilled meats, hard cheeses, or wild mushroom dishes. Winemaker Angie Yañez captures the essence of Agrelo’s terroir in this limited-production release, offering a sleek yet soulful expression of Argentine Cabernet Franc.
