With a nearly even split of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2020 vintage of Midnight Reserve is one of the boldest yet. The nose immediately presents heavy spice notes of cracked pepper and star anise complimented with ripe cranberry. As it opens up, the bouquet takes a second life and presents delicate floral aromas of dried violets. On the palate, rich black plum and boysenberry are accompanied by rounded, powerful tannins that carry a bittersweet element through to the finish. Lush fruit flavor with smoky undertones of roasted almonds stick around after every sip.
