Mario was 50 years old when he made his first batch of creamy limoncello. A recipe he remembers his mom making in the 1960's while living in the small coastal village of Spigno Saturnia on Italy's west coast, right in the center of the boot. It might have been his mom's original recipe. Maybe it was passed down to her from someone else. Who knows, really. But Mario eventually got it, and that's the point. This is creamy. Meant to be served cold. Just enough lemon for a zing. The kind of drink that keeps you cool in the summer and warms your ears in the winter.
