Mars Shinshu Iwai Tradition Sakura Cask is a sakura (cherry blossom) cask-finished blended Japanese whisky from Mars Shinshu — Japan’s highest whisky distillery in the Nagano Alps. The standard Iwai Tradition blend further finished in casks made from sakura wood, the distinctly Japanese cherry tree species, adding a subtle floral, slightly tannic, and uniquely Japanese cask character to the base whisky.
Sakura wood casks are a rare and distinctly Japanese finishing approach — the same cherry blossom tree that defines Japanese spring symbolism contributes a soft floral and gentle tannic profile to maturing whisky that no other wood produces. The combination of the Mars Shinshu Nagano-Alps base whisky with the sakura cask finish creates an expression deeply rooted in Japanese terroir.
