This is the SAME great Pipe Tobacco, just packaged in the Green Plain Liberal Packaging.

Rattray’s represents the pinnacle of Scottish pipe-smoking tradition. Founded in 1903 in Perth by Charles Rattray born in Scotland in 1880 and trained in Dundee, a historic center of the tobacco trade. the brand quickly established a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship.

Today, Rattray’s remains a well-known and highly regarded name among enthusiasts. Now produced in Germany by Kopp using the original recipes, the brand is celebrated for its premium, slow-burning tobaccos in the traditional Scottish style. Its range includes broken flakes, rich Virginias, and iconic blends such as Hal O’ The Wynd, Black Mallory, and Red Rapparee. To this day, many of these blends are still considered among the finest pipe tobaccos in the world. Scottish-style pipe tobaccos are closely related to English blends but are typically more Virginia-forward and often include Cavendish for added body and subtle sweetness. While some may contain small amounts of Latakia, it is generally used sparingly compared to English mixtures. This results in a richer, smoother profile with greater emphasis on natural Virginia character, defining the traditional Scottish blending style.

The Rattray's Stirling Flake pipe tobacco is a strong Virginia flake, backed by rich Burley and dark, smoke-cured Kentucky tobaccos. This mixture results in a solid but nuanced flavour with plenty of kick.
