"The name Rest & Be Thankful comes from the inscription on a stone made by soldiers who built a military road in 1753 in the West coast of Scotland; the road out of Glen Croe was so long and so steep that it was traditional for travellers to rest at the top and be thankful for having reached the highest point."
The Finglassie was distilled at the Lowlands, Inchdairnie Distillery - which is located in the Kingdom of Fife on the east side of Scotland. The distillery began distilling in 2016, contributing the Finglassie to Rest & Be Thankful. Finglassie is described as a memorable Single Malt Scotch Whisky allowing the exploration of the different faces of Peat. This non-coloured, non-chill filtered whisky was aged in ex-Islay bourbon casks and finished in Sherry Butts. Total worldwide out turn was: 5899 bottles.
Nose: Vegetal peat, bonfire smoke and spices.
Palate: Lemon, sherried orange, smoke.
Finish: Dark Chocolate and cereals.
