Smooth Ambler Old Scout Port Cask Finish Batch No. 2 (750 ml)

Old Scout is our family of sourced whiskeys we love. But even the best things need to change it up to keep things fresh. Which is why we’re finishing this gem using casks that enjoyed previous lives aging tawny port. We quietly released this experiment in our tasting room and it kiiiinda blew up. So, we decided to make more to share with all y’all.

Tasting Notes: 

• Nose: An unusual austerity at first, showing only faint hints of wine skins, some muted dill, and a touch of black pepper. With considerable time, the nose builds with deeper notes of stewed dark fruit and dark caramels. 
• Palate: Pleasantly sweet with a distinct fruitiness of caramel, red fruit, berries, and baking spice notes.
• Finish: Barbecue turn extra-charred with a final bit of cocktail cherry and berry cobbler.
