TASTING: The nose opens with a full aroma set of salted nougat, hard pears, nectarine, white flowers, clove, all-spice, and a bit of cocoa nib. On the palate the light floral tone blends nicely with the nougat, some additional citrus peel and mixed spices.
PRODUCTION: This release from the independent bottler A.D. Rattray comes from an ex-Bourbon cask that was filled in November 2006 at 63.5% ABV. Over the intervening years the proof dropped to the 55.5% ABV when it was bottled in February of 2023.
