Zenato Ripassa Superiore 2020 is a bold, elegant expression from the hilly vineyards of Valpolicella in the Veneto region of Northern Italy. Crafted from 85% Corvina Veronese, 10% Corvinone, and 5% Rondinella, this wine undergoes a distinctive ripasso technique, where freshly vinified Valpolicella wine is re-fermented over the pomace of Amarone. This process, combined with 18 months in French oak and further bottle aging, deepens the character, enhancing the wine’s richness, complexity, and structure.

The wine pours an intense ruby red, opening with a generous bouquet of black cherry, plum, and spice. On the palate, it is velvety and well-balanced, with notes of ripe red fruit, dark chocolate, and a touch of vanilla from oak aging. Elegant tannins and a lingering finish make each sip both powerful and refined, showing the influence of Amarone while maintaining the freshness of a classic Valpolicella. It offers 14% alcohol by volume, bringing warmth without overwhelming the palate.

Zenato Ripassa 2020 is best enjoyed slightly below room temperature at around 18°C, ideally served with grilled meats, wild game, hearty roasts, or aged cheeses.
