Description: Tres Maderas, meaning "three woods," is the fourth blend crafted by Alambique Serrano, featuring a unique Acacia wood cask alongside rum aged in French and American oak. This innovative combination creates a harmonious profile that is herbal, earthy, and dry. Distilled by Rommel, Axel, and William Krassel in Santa Maria Tlalixtac, Oaxaca, this rum is made from Java cane and has an ABV of 59.1%. It undergoes fermentation in stainless steel and pine tanks using ambient yeast.
The blend consists of 41% pot still rum aged for 21 months in a first-use Acacia cask, 38% Krassel still rum aged for 36 months in an ex-Cognac French oak cask, and 21% Krassel still rum aged for 18 months in a wet American oak cask that previously held vino generoso. On the nose, Tres Maderas reveals aromas of cinnamon, banana, toffee, and almond, while the palate offers flavors of orange marmalade, pineapple, nutmeg, and green pepper. This distinctive rum showcases the complexities of its unique wood influences.
