It's Valentine's Day and we've fallen in LOVE with the 2023 SLH Chardonnay from the good folks at Cru Winery!
These Chardonnay grapes were sourced from the Santa Lucia Highlands, south of Monterey, high above the Pacific Ocean. Basking in the warm California sunshine, and kept cool by the fresh marine winds, these grapes are full of luscious fruit AND bright, crisp acidity.
The winemaker's choice to age in French oak barrels, including 15% new, accentuates the opulent, tropical flavors of pineapple and melon, while the finish is all Meyer lemon- creamy and crisp!
On a recent evening, this playful paramour paired well with pan-seared salmon, done in simple butter and herbs- but any seafood would be excellent with this wine, especially lobster, crab, scallops, or any other decadent, celebratory Valentine's bites!
